Beat Mix ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. Beat Mix does not require you to create an account, provide your name, email address, or any other personal details.

The app uses the following services:

• Apple MusicKit — Beat Mix accesses your Apple Music library to read your playlists and song information (title, artist, ISRC, catalog ID). This data stays on your device and is used solely to look up audio metadata. We do not store, transmit, or share your Apple Music library data beyond what is needed for the metadata lookup.
• Apple HealthKit — The Heart Rate Play feature optionally reads your real-time heart rate from Apple Watch via HealthKit to match music energy to your workout intensity. HealthKit access requires your explicit permission. Heart rate data is only read while the feature is active, is used solely on-device to select songs matching your current heart rate zone, and is never stored, logged, or transmitted to any server or third party. You can disable Heart Rate Play at any time in Settings.
• Audio Metadata Lookup — We use a third-party API to look up publicly available audio features (tempo, energy, danceability, valence, acousticness, instrumentalness, liveness, speechiness, loudness, key, genre, release date) for songs in your playlists. Only song identifiers (ISRC, catalog ID, or title/artist) are sent for lookup. No user data is transmitted.

Health Data

Beat Mix uses Apple HealthKit solely to read heart rate data for the Heart Rate Play feature. We comply with Apple's HealthKit guidelines:

• Heart rate data is never stored to disk, uploaded to any server, or shared with third parties
• Heart rate data is never used for advertising, marketing, or analytics purposes
• Heart rate data is used only on-device and in real time to determine your current heart rate zone and select appropriate music
• HealthKit access is entirely optional — the app works fully without it
• You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health

In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

Beat Mix offers an optional Pro subscription (monthly or yearly) to unlock additional features. All subscription purchases and billing are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details.

Your subscription status is verified on-device using Apple's StoreKit framework. No subscription or purchase data is transmitted to any external server.

Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults:

• Your synced playlist data (playlist names, track lists, audio metadata)
• Your preset mix configurations and custom mix presets
• Your genre toggle preferences
• Your appearance setting (light, dark, or auto)

The following data is stored in the iOS Keychain:

• Free-tier usage counters (number of BPM matches used, number of HR Play sessions used)

Keychain data may persist after the app is uninstalled. This is used solely to track free-tier usage limits and prevent abuse. No personal information is stored in the Keychain.

All locally stored data remains on your device and is not accessible to us or any third party. Uninstalling the app removes UserDefaults data; Keychain data may persist per iOS system behavior.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share any user data with third parties. The only external data transmission is song identifiers (ISRC, catalog ID, or title/artist) sent to a third-party API for audio metadata lookup. No personal or user-specific data is ever transmitted.

Analytics and Tracking

Beat Mix does not include any analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, advertising frameworks, or other tracking mechanisms. We do not track your usage behavior.

Children's Privacy

Beat Mix does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since the app does not collect personal information, no special provisions for children are necessary.

Apple Music Subscription

Beat Mix requires an Apple Music subscription for playback functionality. Your Apple Music subscription is managed entirely by Apple. We have no access to your Apple ID, payment information, or subscription details.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
